In just 6 years, the Movistar Arena has become an entertainment benchmark not only in Colombia but in Latin America, being recognized for 2 consecutive years in the lists of the world's outstanding venues by Pollstar Magazine (leading publication of entertainment industry in the world), The stage has recently been highlighted as the 6th arena in the world and 3rd in Latin America with the largest number of attendees, among venues of 10,000 to 15,000 people.
The more than 480,000 tickets sold over the course of the year, and all the events held during the year, represent a spillover to the city’s economy from the entertainment sector of more than $500,000 million pesos to different economic sectors such as hotels, restaurants , transportation, employment, food and beverages, services and technology, to name a few.
According to data from Raddar, in the first quarter of the year, the entertainment sector contributed 8.41% of the city’s jobs, consolidating itself as the fourth most important sector. The Movistar Arena provides more than 88,000 formal and informal work shifts per year and supports not only equality in gender opportunities, but also youth employment in order to promote the training of professionals; 53% of the shifts generated are for people between 20 and 30 years old who are still studying.
Since October 2018, the Movistar Arena has become home to more than 380 national artists and more than 285 international artists, and has transformed the event experience of 5 million people who have visited the most important multipurpose stage in the country.
