Located in the heart of Bogotá, the Movistar Arena has established itself as one of the most important entertainment spaces in Colombia. In 2024, more than 750,000 people have enjoyed its varied programming, which includes more than 100 large-scale events; 40% of which sold out all their tickets.
The concert and mass events industry has proven to be a prominent economic driver in recent years. A recent report from the Center for Economic Studies of the National Association of Financial Institutions (ANIF) points out that the concert sector, beyond providing entertainment, drives the economy through a value chain that ranges from ticket sales to associated services such as accommodation, transportation and food.
This industry contributes directly to Colombia’s GDP, reflecting its importance in the country’s economic outlook. In July 2024, the entertainment subsector reported a 9.8% revenue increase compared to the same period last year, driven largely by high-profile events, including concerts and sports competitions that attract thousands of people.
The Movistar Arena has transcended its role as an entertainment center to become a key driver for job creation. According to Raddar figures, the entertainment sector represented 8.41% of jobs in the capital during the first quarter of 2024, positioning itself as the fourth most relevant sector in terms of employment.
The facility generates more than 88,000 work shifts annually, both formal and informal, promoting social inclusion and prioritizing youth employment.
