As part of International Mangrove Ecosystem Day, Movistar Arena announced the planting of more than 4,000 mangrove trees on the coast of La Guajira, an initiative that seeks to contribute to the recovery of one of the country’s most threatened and essential ecosystems. This initiative is part of its environmental sustainability strategy and reflects the venue’s commitment to ecological restoration and the fight against climate change.
“At Movistar Arena, we believe it is vital to transcend the problems of Colombia and the world to be an ally of sustainability. Mangroves have enormous qualities, and their conservation is essential for coastal communities and environmental balance. We began by planting trees in Guasca—where we already have more than 6,000—and we have reached La Guajira, planting this great carbon dioxide retainer,” said Luis Guillermo Quintero, General Manager of Movistar Arena.
