Colombia is the cradle of culture and art. Music, as one of the maximum expressions of the above, is enjoyed by millions of people in the country in each of the settings arranged by the authorities, whether public or private.
In this sense, the largest and most relevant space for holding concerts, presentations or music festivals is the Movistar Arena, which is located in Bogotá next to the Nemesio Camacho El Campín stadium.
The closed dome has a capacity for 14,000 people, who are distributed both in the numbered seats, and in the boxes distributed on the ground in front of the stage.
Thanks to its characteristics and modern structure, the fairgrounds have received great artists such as the Backstreet Boys, Miley Cyrus or Rosalía.
And it is that 2023 has not been the exception, since there has been a tight schedule of total reactivation, after the months in which the pandemic drove away recognized singers from the country. The directives of the establishment have referred to the contribution of the Movistar Arena to the economy.
“Movistar Arena contributes to the activation of the economy of the entertainment industry, generating between 800 and 1,000 indirect jobs every time we have a full arena event, and boosting other sectors with ticket sales, transportation, food and beverage sales , the payment of taxes and parafiscal, the local expenses of artists, sponsors and experiences, among others; We estimate that the contribution to the economy of the city and the country, thanks to the large number of shows scheduled for 2023, will be more than 445 billion pesos. This without taking into account the contribution to the tourism sector of visitors who come from outside the city and the country to attend the shows”, Luigi Quintero, general manager of the Movistar Arena, told Portafolio.
Continuing with this intensity on the calendar, the second semester is already full of important events such as those of the Tigres del Norte, Enrique Bunbury, the Fabulosos Cadillacs, Blur, Gojira, Marco Antonio Solís, Maneskin, Mora and Eladio Carrión, among others.
