Alejo Sergi, member of the musical group ‘Miranda!’, talked to W Fin de Semana about the trajectory of his musical group, taking advantage of the fact that on Saturday, May 31 they will perform at the Movistar Arena in Bogota.
Miranda! is an Argentine pop music duo formed in 2001 and is formed by two singers: Alejandro Sergi and Juliana Gattas.
Sergi assured that they chose the name of the musical duo because of its sonority and in honor of the Argentine actor Osvaldo Miranda. As there were already several musical bands with the name ‘Miranda’, Alejandro Sergi and Juliana Gattas decided to add the exclamation mark at the end to give it a distinctive touch.
This concept arose from Juliana Gattas’ shows as a soloist doing jazz and the need to show a fantasy on stage.
The Argentine duo in its beginnings carried a bag to change and they defended themselves with whatever they had within their reach, so they tried to make their wardrobe the most representative because it was the most accessible thing for them, Sergi said.
The Argentine singer explained that this song was born without thinking much about it and the rhythm is a kind of fast waltz. The idea came about because Alejo Sergi went out dancing and was struck by a house song, which he subsequently practiced with his guitar.
While the iconic phrase “Lolo’s Guitar” was created based on musical comedy. Initially it was an inside joke that he brought it from a song he had already written.
This idea originated through the song ‘Perfecta’, a love song that you can dedicate and that compiles your own and other people’s experiences. From there came the taste for making a raggae, which they turned into a raggaepop, Sergi said.
The musician said that his return as an independent group will be soon.
According to him, Miranda! would like to come more often to Colombia and that it becomes a regular point for concerts, this because they consider that the people receive them very well.
