Volvo Cars Colombia and Movistar Arena announce a strategic alliance that brings together two premium brands around a common purpose: to transform the experience of those attending major events in the capital. This agreement reflects a joint commitment to promoting electromobility in high-impact urban spaces by integrating a modern and accessible electric charging network that will enhance the experience of more than 480,000 annual attendees at one of the country’s most renowned cultural and entertainment venues.
With this initiative, the Movistar Arena will have seven charging points for Volvo electric vehicles within the venue, facilitating the transition to cleaner mobility for domestic and foreign visitors. In addition, the alliance is part of the extensive concert and event calendar, which this year alone includes more than 130 performances, consolidating the city as the epicenter of music, entertainment, and now also urban electromobility in Latin America.
“This partnership with Movistar Arena reflects the union of two major brands that share the same vision for the future: offering memorable experiences with a firm commitment to sustainability. For Volvo, this collaboration reaffirms its purpose of leading the transition to responsible electric mobility through practices such as recyclable materials, renewable energy, and a charging infrastructure for new-generation vehicles that brings this technology closer to Colombians with meaning and purpose,” said Alberto Telch, Brand Manager for Volvo Cars in Colombia.
For its part, Movistar Arena became the heart of the country’s cultural life seven years ago. Every year, it welcomes millions of people and is now the venue for 76% of the city’s mass events. Carlos Yepes, Commercial Manager of Movistar Arena, highlights the affinity of the alliance with Volvo Cars: “Movistar Arena not only promotes culture and entertainment, but also seeks to be a benchmark for innovation and sustainability for the city. Partnering with Volvo Cars reinforces that commitment: together we demonstrate that large venues can also lead the transition to cleaner mobility that is connected to art and the environment.”
Its world-class infrastructure, together with its commitment to sustainability—100% renewable energy in corridors, bars, and commercial premises, and more than 10,000 trees and mangroves planted in offset projects—make it a global benchmark in the entertainment industry.
Finally, Ángela Bolívar, Marketing Manager at Volvo, points out: “We seek to identify spaces and experiences where our current and potential customers are. The Movistar Arena is one of them: a meeting point where music, excitement, and sustainability coexist. Being present in this setting allows us to bring electromobility closer to people, as well as strengthening sustainable and safe mobility.”
With this announcement, Movistar Arena and Volvo reinforce their role as agents of cultural and environmental transformation, positioning Bogotá as a modern, connected, and sustainable capital city.
