Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. This phenomenon refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. Although these changes can occur naturally, in recent decades they have been intensified by human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, and gas), deforestation, intensive agriculture, and industrial processes that generate high greenhouse gas emissions.
The world faces a phenomenon called climate change, referring to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. Although these changes can be natural, they have been intensified by human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas. In addition to deforestation, agriculture, high emissions of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide ($CO_2$), and other industrial processes; all these activities generate emissions that act like a blanket wrapped around the Earth, trapping the sun's heat and raising temperatures.
Addressing climate change requires both collective and individual effort. We can all contribute through our daily actions to reduce environmental impacts and protect the planet. Here are some effective measures you can implement:
Turn off lights and appliances when not in use. If they will not be in operation for an extended period, it is better to keep them unplugged. Opt for low-consumption LED bulbs and choose efficient appliances that use less energy.
Choose public transportation, carpooling, or environmentally friendly transport, such as electric vehicles, electric scooters, or simply riding a bike or walking. These actions help decrease the emission of polluting gases.
Purchase only necessary goods and services. Reduce the use of disposable products, especially single-use plastics. Opt for recyclable, reusable, and biodegradable products, thereby contributing to more conscious and sustainable consumption.
Correctly separate waste in your home using the color code: recyclable, non-recyclable, and organic waste. This not only decreases the amount of waste sent to landfills but also supports professional recyclers, promoting a circular economy.

We recognize the importance and commitment of caring for our natural resources; therefore, we have developed several actions that have allowed us to reduce environmental impacts and be recognized as a sustainable venue. Some of the strategies to combat climate change at the Movistar Arena are:
We encourage the use of electric vehicles by providing charging points for these vehicles. Additionally, we facilitate access via the SITP and Transmilenio stations, as well as bicycle parking, promoting sustainable mobility.
We implement LED lighting and motion sensors to reduce energy consumption throughout our facilities.
We collaborate with the Remarek Association for the sorting and recovery of waste. This process allows recyclable materials to be reintegrated into new life cycles, thus reducing environmental impact.
We develop a training and awareness program for our employees, contractors, and visitors, promoting a culture of sustainability and ensuring that every activity carried out in the arena has the least possible impact on the environment.
Just as we work at the Movistar Arena to reduce environmental impacts, you too can be part of the change. From small daily actions to community initiatives, every effort counts toward protecting our natural resources.
