Movistar Arena: epicenter of culture and growth for Latin America

In just six years, Movistar Arena has managed to establish itself as a benchmark for entertainment in Latin America, standing out not only for the quality of its shows but also for its positive impact on the economy and social fabric of Bogotá.

Since its opening in October 2018, this venue has transformed the way Colombians and international visitors enjoy culture, sports and entertainment in a space designed for the community and with the purpose of building the country.

Recently, the Movistar Arena was listed as the first arena with the largest number of attendees in the world and the third in Latin America, among venues with a capacity of 10,000 to 15,000 people, according to Pollstar Magazine, the leading publication of the entertainment industry in the world

These achievements, in addition to reflecting the success in the management of this space, also constitute a living example of the enthusiasm of the public, which has acquired more than 750,000 tickets in the last year alone. This massive influx represents an economic impact of more than $500,000 million pesos in the city, positively impacting sectors such as ticketing, hotels, services, among others.

And, without a doubt, the impact of the Movistar Arena on the country’s economy is profound. Only in the first quarter of this year, the entertainment sector, where this venue plays a crucial role, represented 8.41% of jobs in the city, placing it as the fourth most important sector in terms of job creation.

Each year, the facility generates more than 88,000 work shifts, promoting both inclusive and diverse opportunities. More than half of these shifts are occupied by young people between 20 and 30 years old, many of them students who find in this space an opportunity to develop their skills and build their professional path.
